About Me

I am an experienced Reflexologist, passionate about helping people. I am fully qualified and a member of the Association of Reflexologists. I am also on the NHS list of approved reflexologists offering treatments in a private studio at my home in Bishopthorpe.
For many years I worked as a Science Teacher but took time out to be a full time mum. Rather than return to teaching, I decided I wanted to do something that would help others with their busy and stressful lives. This led me to re-discover the benefits of reflexology that I had experienced many years ago during my treatment for breast cancer.

I also offer simple and luxury manicures and pedicures including gel polish.

What is Reflexology
Reflexology is a method of healing the body through working the hands or feet. Ancient Egyptians and Chinese cultures often worked on feet to promote healing. Today many of those techniques have been developed to form modern Reflexology.
Modern Reflexology involves applying pressure using fingers, thumbs and knuckles to specific parts of the feet. These parts are called reflexes and correspond to all the organs and structures of the body. Stimulating these areas encourages the body to relax and reduce stress. By reducing stress we reduce the chance of the body becoming susceptible to illness and disease.

What Happens During a Reflexology Treatment
Firstly we will discuss what you would like to get out of Reflexology and discuss your medical history. This will be kept confidential and used to create a personal treatment plan.
You will need to remove your shoes and socks and lie on the massage couch ready to relax.
Once you are comfortable I will use my hands to apply firm pressure to all areas of your feet, whilst you take the time to relax.
The session should take about an hour - it may be slightly longer if it is your first visit.
After treatment most people feel a sense of relaxation and well-being.
Manicures
Express Manicure includes nail shaping, cuticle work and application of gel polish.

Luxury Manicure includes nail shaping, cuticle work, application of Gel polish, exfoliation and hand massage.

Deluxe Manicure includes nail shaping, cuticle work, application of gel polish, exfoliation, hand massage and paraffin wax treatment.
Pedicures
Express Pedicure includes nail shaping, cuticle work and application of gel polish.

Luxury Pedicure includes nail shaping, cuticle work, application of Gel polish, exfoliation and foot massage.

Deluxe Pedicure includes nail shaping, cuticle work, application of gel polish, exfoliation, foot massage and paraffin wax treatment.
Opening Hours
Working on an appointment only basis, I am conveniently located on the outskirts of York. There is plenty of parking and a bus stop right outside.
